Handmade in the hills of Southern Illinois…

Black Sheep Feltworks was founded in the fall of 2024. Artist and maker Meg Smith (SCAD ‘11, BFA Fibers) returns to her textile roots, combining them with her illustrative style to create entirely handmade art pieces out of embroidered and embellished wool felt. Meg is inspired by the nature of her home in Southern Illinois and includes motifs of local flora and fauna in her work. Dedicated to using only the finest materials, Meg creates her fine art banners and accessories out of wool felt, cotton thread, glass beads, sequins, and stained wood.
